    Every month, your Editor will offer you a new title(s) that has been chosen especially for its quality and value. This is the Editor’s Choice. If you’d like to receive it sooner, just order it and it will be sent to you straight away. If you do not wish to receive the Editor’s Choice, simply let us know each month.     In addition to your special introductory offer, you agree to buy at least at least 4 more books in your first year of Membership; this is your Membership Agreement. Fulfilling it is easy - we offer a great range of books to choose from. Once your Membership Agreement is fulfilled, you are not obliged to buy any more books, but you will remain a member of the club and continue to receive the club magazine and be offered the Editor’s Choice. Just remember to let us know each time whether you’d like to receive the Editor’s Choice or not. You can cancel your Membership any time after you have bought the agreed number of books.


    Please note: At the time of cancellation, if you have not bought the number of books you agreed to buy, you will be charged a cancellation charge of £10 for each book outstanding. You may choose to either pay the cancellation charge, or purchase additional books to fulfil your Membership Agreement. This charge will be waived if you have spent more than £50 on your account. All books you purchase will count towards your Membership Agreement, except for special offers where indicated.

    The postage and packaging charge for your introductory parcel is £2.99. Please allow 7 to 10 working days for delivery.

    Membership of this club is limited to one membership per household, and the offer is only available in the UK. Membership is subject to acceptance and we may consult a licensed credit agency that may record the search. Applicants must be over 18 years of age.

    Information about Your Membership

    Your Membership Agreement
    In return for your introductory offer you agree to buy the number of books specified in the terms and conditions above. Note; these are in addition to the introductory offer. If you do not wish to become a Book Club member, you must return your introductory books within 10 days. If you wish to cancel your membership, please contact our Customer Services department. It would be helpful if you could give us your reasons for cancelling.

    Returns As a member you can return any book up to 10 days after receipt. If you return a book after that, a handling charge may be added to your account. When the book is received by us, its value will be credited to your account. Of course, you can return wrong or damaged items at any time. For a replacement or refund please contact the Customer Services team. Your Membership Agreement does not affect your statutory rights to return an item. returned items will not count towards your Membership Agreement.

    Multi Book Orders
    You may order as many books as you wish, but we may limit the number we despatch at any one time. For large orders, or where there is a balance outstanding on your account, we may ask for a payment before despatching the books.

    Charges We reserve the right to charge an administration fee for cheques returned unpaid by your bank or refused credit card payments. Charges may be applied to your account in the case of late payments. If your unpaid account is sent to a third party for collection, further charges will be added to any amount outstanding on your account.

    Your Data
    Your club is registered under the Data Protection Act (Reg. No. Z6100513). We use your information, including shopping patterns, for marketing purposes and to administer your account. We share your details with our third-party service providers (including couriers, mailing houses and debt collectors). We may monitor and record telephone calls in order to ensure our service to you is of the highest standard. Adverse account details may affect your ability to obtain credit. If you do not wish to receive telephone calls from us for marketing purposes, or marketing material from us or any third parties, please contact Customer Services.

    How much is postage and packaging?
    Postage and packaging costs for Books for Children are £3.49 per order, or £2.99 if the order is placed online. If your order totals £40 or more (or £25 or more online), then it will qualify for Free Postage and Packaging. Occasionally we need to charge a higher postage and packing rate for special offers. This will be clearly shown in your club magazine, in any additional literature and on the website.

    How do I return an item?
    Items can be returned via the Post Office. Alternatively we offer a convenient Home Collection Service. To take advantage of this service, simply call 0844 499 0000 to arrange this. The charge for this service is £3.00 per collection. In all cases, please ensure your membership details or delivery note are enclosed in the parcel and that you obtain a receipt of posting. We will add a handling charge for items returned if the postage is unpaid.

    How to contact us and make payments

    Online: Log onto http://www.booksforchildren.co.uk/ to place an order, make a payment or check the status on your account. Just follow the simple instructions.

    Home Banking: If you prefer telephone or internet banking, simply contact your bank quoting our account details and your membership number. The name of our account is BCA Telebanking; our sort code is 62-28-53; and our account number is 0000 0000.

    By Phone: Simply call 0844 499 0000. Remember to have your membership number handy.

    By post: Fill in the form enclosed with your order. If paying by cheque, please make it payable to your club, add your membership number on the reverse and send with your order form. Please send to: BCA, Hargreaves Road, Swindon, SN99 9XX.
